Common Questions

 

 

Problem: MY PROPERTY DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE INTERNET

Fix: click Current Listing > Details > Sharing > set ‘Share List Type’ to ‘Alliances’

Fix: click Current Listing > Details > Sharing > in ‘Type’ activate ‘Distributors’ > scroll down until you see the website you require > click onto it an keep you finger pushed down on the mouse while you drag the website name into one of the Distributor boxes at the top left hand side of the page, then release.

Fix: Attach an image to the property

Fix: Add ‘Advertising Title

Fix: Make sure you have the correct State

Fix: Insert ‘Number of Rooms’ or ‘Bedrooms’

Fix: click Maintenance > Transfers > Log

Cause 8: You need to have a separate subscription for Commercial Property

Fix: Contact the Website

Cause 9: You have sold a property without recording the Sold Price

Fix: Include the Sold Price and Transfer

If none of the above apply then it could be the Multilink Remote Server is down. Call Multilink Help Desk

 

Problem: MY PROPERTY IS STILL ON THE WEB SITE

Fix: Reassign the property in Proplink to ‘Potential Listing’, ‘Sold’ or ‘Delete’ and then do a Transfer

Fix: The correct protocol here is to ‘Clone’ the ‘Land’ record, change the Property Type to ‘House’ then delete the first ‘Land’ record and then Transfer. If you have created the second record already and the property is still recorded in the first category on the web you must go into the website member services area and remove the first record manually.

 

Problem: THE PROPERTY’S SUBURB DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE WEBSITE

 

Problem:  HOW DO I UPDATE/ADD A NEW STAFF MEMBER TO MY COMPANY WEBSITE

 

ProblemMY WORKSTATION CANNOT CONNECT TO THE OFFICE SERVER

Fix 1 : Restart Server

Fix 2: Disable Windows Firewall it may be blocking Interbase Port. Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall > select (OFF)

Fix 3: Some existing Anti Virus Software may be conflicting and should be removed. Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > locate the applicable ‘Anti Virus Software’ > click ‘Change/Remove’ button and follow on-screen instructions. After the Anti Virus software is removed you need to check the Services File to confirm that the correct settings are there. To do this go to Windows Explorer c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ . open ‘Services’ file using ‘Notepad > check that the last entry to see if the line “gds_db           3050/tcp                  # InterBase Server”  is included. If not add it > Close and Save.

 

Problem: ERROR MESSAGE IS ‘HOST NOT FOUND'

Fix: If you are using Terminal Server software you need to exit from it and rerun Proplink

 

Problem: LAPTOP IS SLOW STARTING UP

Fix: Check for System Restore and make sure that it is disabled by Start > Control Panel > Systems > System Restore

 

Problem: REPLICATION IS HANGING IN THE MIDDLE OF REPLICATING

Fix: GDB is exceeding 4GB, need to add another GDB file. To do this go to the Office Server > search for IBConsole.exe > run it > Server > Register Local Server > database >Register Tools > Interactive SQL > type in alter database add file 'c:\proplink\data\proplink2.gdb' starting at 3800000 > Query > Execute

 

 

 

 

Problem: BDE ERROR - INSUFFICIENT DISK SPACE MESSAGE BUT NOT IN ACTUAL FACT (for all existing versions of Proplink)

Cause: This is a bug in the BDE file.

Fix: Need to update to a newer version of Proplink. This update MUST be done sequentially from the version you currently have and not simply jump to the latest update. To download the next version click on to that version and download it into c:\proplink\bin overwriting the original. When you have reached Version 2.49 and downloaded it into Proplink Bin you can then download the fix contained in http://www.multilink.com.au/updates/Proplink_v2_49_hotfix_1/Proplink.exe and overwrite the existing file

Problem: POSTCODE REFERENCE TO AUST POST

Fix: Postcode Utility containing new Postcodes is available from Multilink

 

Problem: ERROR MESSAGE says “Cannot write to Proplink ini file”

Fix: Need to add file permission in Windows (Add full control for user group). Locate Proplink.ini file  > Properties > Security > everyone > Under ‘Permissions for Everyone’ select Allow in Full Control

 

Problem: ERROR MESSAGE reads ‘I/O Error for file: Ib_sort_XXXXX’

Cause: Running low on disk space in system drive

Fix; Delete all files in Temp Folder and empty Recycle Bin

 

Problem: TRANSFER IS FAILING

Cause: Mostly to do with Photos. If error message says “Unexpected error on number of rows with a property address

Fix: Maintenance > Transfers > Log > check for the address Resize the images for that address to 800x600

 

Problem: INSTALL NEW WORKSTATION

Fix:       1. Send email with link to Version 2.46 setup and autorun (as above)

2. When the Installer asks for a Server Name and Path. Go to the existing Workstation and check for its existing Server Name and Path (i.e. where Proplink is located on the Server e.g. Server Name could be Gallery_Server and the path could be c:\Proplink). If you need to know where the Path of Proplink is > go to the existing Workstation > click Start > Control Panel > BDE Administrator > databases > expand databases > PL _Inter > copy the Server Name Path (only to the Parent Folder e.g. c:\Proplink) Copy and Paste this information into the ‘Path’ of the setup screen.

3. Update the existing version with V2.46, then with V2.47, then with V2.48, then with V2.49

            4. When install is concluded go in to Proplink and Setup Sharing Defaults

 

Problem: DATABASE ERROR AFTER INSTALLING

Fix: check BDE Administrator for Server Path. To do this click Start > Control Panel > BDE Administrator > databases > expand databases > PL _Inter > check Server Name Field has the correct information. It should read Server Name:and server path (e.g Gallery_Server:c:\Proplink\data\proplinkGDB)
